We all know that being a mom is a full-time job. As mothers, we have a lot on our plates. Between taking care of our families, doing housework, and working to support them, it can be hard to find time for ourselves. But we must make time for our health, both physically and mentally. That means remaining consistent with our diet and exercise routine and finding time for relaxation and self-care.
Despite being a new mom, Shannon is committed to her health, and one reason is her self-discipline and belief that if she doesn't do certain things, then who will? For her, being active is self-care. If she’s not active, she gets grumpy, more stressed, tired, and more anxious. She thrives on a routine in which she gets up and goes to bed at the same time every day, whether it's a weekend or not, and works out at roughly the same time every day. Shannon, as an individual, discovered that she performs better when structured. She's happier and more content and prioritizes the important things, which helps her stay on track. Shannon, like everyone else, is not perfect. Shannon began to realize and believe that she should not overcomplicate things and should not strive for perfection. Instead, she takes one small step each day to keep herself committed.
Another thing to consider to remain consistent and committed to your wellness in general, is joining a gym. A gym is a great place to find like-minded individuals with similar goals and you can receive support from trainers and other members. Research the gym you want to join and write down all of the positive aspects. Find a gym that ensures you are guided and supported and that meets you where you are, to help you succeed. You need to recognize what you, as an individual, need and what makes you feel most comfortable and safe.
It can be tough to remain consistent with our health and wellness goals as moms. Between work, family obligations, and all other distractions, it sometimes feels like we don’t have time for ourselves. But if there’s one thing you need to learn, consistency is key to our well-being, and gyms can be a great way to stay consistent and committed to your health goals. They provide a healthy environment, support system, and resources to keep you on track. If you struggle to stick to your diet or exercise routine, consider joining a gym. You may find it easier to remain consistent and achieve your long-term health goals.
