Most of us know the feeling of being unmotivated. Having a hard time being consistent, not just with the physical aspect of it but the mental battle that goes on in our head. The thoughts that try to convince us to slack off, skip a day or take a break. It's a struggle to stay consistent with anything in life, but it's especially hard when you're trying to be healthy.
Mike Crowell had a similar experience with his fitness before joining True Core. He's having trouble committing to anything. He'd go to the gym three times a week for three months, then he'd stop. It's all a bit of a roller coaster ride. Mike thought that starting a new workout routine was always painful, but as he progressed through his journey, he noticed changes that he found strange at first. He's lost some weight, his abs are shrinking, and his clothes are becoming too big for him. Also, Mike used to go to work with a 16oz cup of coffee, but since joining the program, he has found himself not wanting or unable to finish that cup of coffee, and he is drinking less than before. The program has had a significant impact on him, particularly in terms of hockey. He'd normally crawl home, embarrassed, but it's not the same now. He wanted to love and enjoy it, and he was looking forward to going to the gym.
As he began his journey with True Core, the trainers, with the assistance of YouTube, greatly helped him in developing habits that he could follow and sustain in the long run.
He believed that when you want to make a change or who’s on the fence about joining True Core, just do it. It can feel like there are too many obstacles and excuses that get in the way of your goals, but one thing we learned from this process is that if we want something badly enough, we'll find a way to make it happen.
The key is knowing what works for you and how much effort you need to put into making changes.
